BSI (Office for Information Security) Warning - Identity Theft

The Office for Information Security has issued a warning due to large scale identity theft. 16 million e-mail addresses and passwords are affected.

Dear colleagues,

The Office for Information Security (BSI) has issued a warning in relation to large scale identity theft, which affects 16 million e-mail addresses and passwords.

The BSI offers an e-mail checking service, through which everyone can check whether their e-mail address has been affected.

The service can be accessed via the link below:

This incident stresses that reusing passwords, especially in combination with a user name poses security risks. We therefore strongly advice you to refrain from reusing passwords.

With regard to work-related access passwords, they are under no circumstances to be used privately. We recommend including a related instruction in process instructions.

With regards
