Eaas Team and eScience present at the iPres 2017
At this years iPres at the University of Kyoto in Japan the EaaS-Team was present as a member of the Program committee (represented by Klaus Rechert) with a paper about "Adding Emulation Functionality to Existing Digital Preservation Infrastructure" (Euan Cochrane, Jonathan Tilbury and Oleg Stobbe). Also, the 8"-Floppy-Recovery project was presented as a joint effort: "A Case Study on Retrieval of Data from 8 inch Disks – Of the Importance of Hardware Repositories for Digital Preservation" (Denise de Vries, Dirk Von Suchodoletz and Willibald Meyer).
Other topics of the conference included questions about university and national strategies for the management of (research) data. Also, special tools and services were talked about, which are needed for archiving, long-term access and research data management (conference blocks: Preservation Systems, Certification, Content Analysis).
