Freiburg Online Master Program - New Term, New Learning Management System

The extra occupational online master programs and continuing education programs of Freiburg University have successfully started into the new winter term (2013/14).

For the first time all  Online Master Programs are using the new learning management system of Freiburg University. The virtual classroom  Adobe Connect and  ILIAS together build the core of the online programs' e-learning infrastructure. Both platforms are centrally administered and supported at Freiburg University.

Daniel Sassiat, who is responsible for techical as well as didactic support within the online programs and part of the Service-Center E-Learning, has provided support and guidance during this change. New functions such as wikis, forums, and ether pads, allow for new teaching and learning scenarios, which many of the programs have already integrated at the start of the new term.

At this year's kickoff event students were able to get acquainted with their new online learning environment. The first feedback has been very positive. After a technical introduction, there was time for learning about course content and getting to know teaching staff. This continued in a more informal setting during a dinner as well as a city tour. The students will get together next time at the beginning of the summer term ... and of course in the virtual classroom.

The Service-Center E-Learning wishes all new online students of Freiburg University a successful start.
