Successful commencement of Freiburg's Online-Master-Programmes in the new term
A common characteristic to all programmes is their usage of the university's central IT-Infrastructure, such as learning platforms and virtual classrooms. The Service Center E-Learning supports the programmes with regard to E-Learning possibilities and offers technical support to lecturers, students, and all other participants.
Daniel Sassiat has been the contact person since 2009. He belongs to the Service Center E-Leraning and is financed partially through tution fees. This model ensures fast reaction and that technical innovation in E-Leraning are immediately available for all programmes.
Starting with this term (2012/2013), Daniel Sassiat had the pleasure of welcoming over 80 new online students from Germany and elsewhere to Freiburg University and of introducing them to the techniques that will accompany them in the upcoming terms.
The support is, highly used by students, has changed over the years. Through changes in hardware, the requests have become more diverse and are no longer limited to using learning platforms and virtual classrooms: How to use a calender via smartphone? Which VPN-client is to be installed on my laptop? Is it possible to access e-journals via tablet? After solving technical problems, the students got acquainted with their professors, who gave them a first taste of the upcoming term in introductory lectures. Subsequently, city tours and a dinner concluded the introductory events in a casual manner.
