UniAccount for lecturers and guests

Lecturers, visiting scientists, research fellows and other members of the University of Freiburg who are active in research and teaching can apply for a Uni-Account.

New application for a UniAccount

Lecturers and guest lecturers who are not employed by the University of Freiburg cannot register themselves. If you need a UniAccount (and are authorised to do so according to the IT authorisation concept of the University), please proceed as follows:

  1. Download the application form below.
  2. Contact the faculty/institution for which you are carrying out the teaching assignment and have the application completed and signed. The period of validity of your account is determined by the applying institution and depends on the duration of your teaching assignment or guest stay.
  3. The institute/institution sends the form by internal mail to the address of the User Service of the Computer Centre indicated on the form.
  4. A few days later, the UniAccount with an initial password and general information is sent by internal mail to the applying university institution.
  5. Collect your information letter from the relevant contact person at the institution.

Extending an existing account for guests

If you are already registered and your account needs to be extended or you need extended rights, a written follow-up application is also required via the university institution you work for. Please enter your existing university account in the top right-hand corner of the application form. https://downloads.rz.uni-freiburg.de/freier-zugang/uniaccount/formular-nachfolgeantrag-externe-mitarbeiterinnen-gaeste/at_download/file

Apply for extended rights for a university account

If you need the following extended rights as a lecturer, a new application from the university institution responsible for you is also required. Please indicate your existing university account on the application.

ReDI (Research Service)
"ReDI" is the authorisation to use the online resources of the university library (journals -database, e-books, etc.).
Due to the regulations of the licensed online media, "ReDI" access is only granted to members of the university if they have an assignment in research and/or teaching.
For this purpose, it is imperative that you observe the IT authorisation concept of the University of Fribourg and justify the authorisation with the form "Nachweis der Redi-Berechtigung" (see below).

As soon as a new authorisation or other extended rights have been added to your account, you must "redistribute" your central password again via the account management platform MyAccount under the menu item "Password".
