Campus-Management Maintenance Window

The maintenance window of the Campus-Management-System has been changed to the time frame between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

In February, Students and the IT Services discussed several questions on the usability of Campus-Management and the university's e-learning systems. This took place as part of the first Usability-Workshop  .

Students expressed the wish to change the nightly maintenance window to the time frame between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. The current time frame is a compromise since the system is somtimes needed by employees before 7 a.m. This solution has been implemented as part of the migration to version 15.

The mainentance window is necessary since synchronizations between different systems and data backups need to be conducted. Through optimizations, it was possible to shorten the maintenance window from six to three hours in August 2012. Further shortening of the maintenance window will most likely not be possible until the current system landscape has been completely exchanged for a more modern architecture. Until then, we will continue to conduct maintenance work between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Additional maintenance work is conducted at times where the least possible harm is done. This includes Firda afternoons and the weekends. For questions and comments please contact cm@rz.uni-freiburg.de or use the Hotline-Formular
