The University IT Services ("RZ") is the IT service provider for the University of Freiburg. The RZ has been the central operating facility since 1966. We provide the IT infrastructure for the university. On our web pages you will find all information about our tasks and services.

In this particular case, the existing redundancy cannot be utilised, and there will be an impact on the central email service for staff (CommuniGate/MailSPEC). The service will be unavailable during the maintenance period from 17:00 to approximately 22:00. Incoming emails will be temporarily stored by the DFN. It will not be possible to send or receive emails via CommuniGate during this time. |

In this particular case, the existing redundancy cannot be utilised, and there will be an impact on the central email service for staff (CommuniGate/MailSPEC). We have been able to set up workarounds for the other services surrounding the system. The mail server will be shut down before the actual maintenance work begins. All incoming emails will be temporarily stored by the DFN and delivered as soon as our email system is available again. During the maintenance period, it will not be possible to retrieve or send emails via the CommuniGate mail server. We will provide further updates here before the work begins and once it has been completed. |
