Seventh cluster advisory board meeting for NEMO operation and governance

On June 24, 2019, the seventh meeting of the NEMO cluster advisory board took place. This meeting was about the operational and scientific governance of the large research infrastructure that is run by the eScience department at the Freiburg University IT Services in the bwHPC state association.

NEMO cluster advisory board meeting to operation and governance

The bwHPC cluster NEMO help the scientific communities of natural sciences, physics of elementary particles, micro system technics and material sciences. The agenda of the meeting included points such as a status report on NEMO, deliberations regarding upcoming storage extensions and potential changes to the parallel file systems, deliberations regarding potential GPU extensions in NEMO. The operational governance reports on the capacity as well as the distribution of the usage to the locations and user communities.

Furthermore, the recently finished bwHPC symposium proceedings of the last meeting in Freiburg were presented. Moreover, the DFG report and the bwHPC S5 evaluation are coming up. Preparations for the NEMO 2 application were also discussed.
