bwLehrpool: pool room info panels
The electronic info panels will, depending on their configuration, schematically display the spacial set up of the pool room computers, their status (on, off, occupied) as well as possible booking plans in the form of a daily calendar.
Interfaces of other information services as well as, for example, HISinOne, which is used in Freiburg, will be available as data sources.
All monitors, regardless of shape and size, including e-ink displays, can be used as an output medium, in horizontal or vertical orientation. Room plans and occupancy information can be displayed individually, simultaneously or alernately; up to four rooms can be displayed simultaneously.
The computer symbols will at the same time display the work space status: occupied computers will be marked red, running computers with no user log in dark green and switched off computers black. Apart from the calendar information there will also be information regarding the room (free/occupied), the number of free work spaces in the room section at the top right as well as an indicator saying how much time is left before the pool room closes or before an announced pool room occupancy by a course or a seminar starts.
Intitutes that are interested in a pool room display are asked to contact the bwLehrpool project.
Note: As the project bwLehrpool naturally wants to make the display easily legible for color blind people, there will be different levels of brightness and contrast for the work space symbols (occupied = red, black/green = free). In order to further improve the display, we are keen on feedback from red-green and blue-yellow color blind users (and of course from users without color blindness). For this, please contact us via the bwLehrpool team email.
