Demonstration of latest developments of EaaS at DPC Event

The Digital Preservation Coalition invited to an event about the use of emulation in York. Emulation-as-a-Service, developed at the chair for communication systems in the course of various research projects, is evolving into one of the key tools that are being used in an ever growing number of institutions.

The Digital Preservation Coalitionhosted an event about the use of emulation in memory institutions and related areas in regards to "Halcyon On and On: Emulating to Preserve". Emulation-as-a-Service (EaaS, developed at the chair for communication systems in the course of various research projects (e.g. bwFLA, EMiL)) is evolving into one of the key tools that are being used in an ever growing number of institutions.

Among the topics presented were the assisted adjustment of disc images of original systems for the use in the emulator, accelerated graph output with high screen resolution based on the use of GPU rendering and 3D rendering with the example of fs-uae (Amiga Emulator) output and virtual network setups.
