RDMG and current IT Services department FDM projects at local E-Science days

Representatives of the Research Data Management Group of the University of Freiburg and the chair for communication systems will be present at this year´s E-Science days, together with colleagues from the University library (UB) and coorperation partners. ViCE, CiTAR, bwSFS and the Science Data Center BioDATEN will be present in Heidelberg as well.

Among others, the subject of research data (management) will be a part of the focus of this year´s E-Science days in Heidelberg. Firstly, the ViCE project, which has now been completed, will be presented through the tandem talk "Lessons learned from Virtualized Research Environments in today's scientific compute infrastructures" and through a poster. Furthermore, CiTAR "Citing and Archiving Research" will be present on the poster session. In addition, first ideas and concepts for the concrete implementations of bwSFS (Storage-for-Science) will be presented together with the colleagues from Tübingen.

Finally, a short presentation was held by the Science Data Center BioDATEN together with the project partners from Baden-Württemberg and the MWK, which will be supporting four such data centers in the coming four years.
