Online event for the presentation of the now DFN-federated offer "bwLehrpool"

The German Research Network (DFN) invited to an online event on the topic "DFN-federated service bwLehrpool" on 29.06.2023. The event aimed to inform operational contact persons in IT departments, colleagues in charge of procurement, e-learning coordinators, project managers for research and development projects, and managing directors of research associations, doctoral colleges, and collaborative research centers about the new federated service "bwLehrpool". This is intended to extend the state service, which has been established for some time, into a nationwide offering.

The content of the events included the presentation of the federated project/state service "bwLehrpool" for virtual teaching environments as well as the provision of non-persistent virtual pool room computers with further aspects, such as the location-independent functionality (bwLehrpool-Remote). This service is to be gradually included in the offering within the federated DFN cloud, so that all members of DFN can easily use this service at their institution as well. In addition, information was provided on the various options for conducting digital exams in the bwLehrpool. After the presentation by S. Ritter from HAW Offenburg, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss and get more information. The discussion included topics such as the integration of the bwLehrpool into existing IT infrastructures, data protection aspects and potential extensions of the service.
