2024-11-27 15:43: Warning about phishing mail in the name of the rector

#ufrstatus #Phishing #Mail #stoerung

The university is the target of a targeted phishing attack. Phishing emails are being sent to members of the university, supposedly in the name of the Rector, asking them to visit a website where it is highly likely that malicious documents will be opened or access data will be entered.

The subject of the phishing e-mail is ‘Important personnel adjustment’. In the text, you are then asked to click on a malicious link.

In the event that someone has clicked on the link provided in the email and entered data there, this data must be reset as quickly as possible via myAccount. In addition, a report must be sent to datenschutz@uni-freiburg.de or security@uni-freiburg.de.

Enclosed you will also find a screenshot of the mail.

There is more information on phishing emails on the information page on data protection and information security and a section in the FAQ entitled ‘I have clicked on a phishing email. What should I do now?":
