2025-10-24 16:26: Emergency update for critical vulnerability in Microsoft WSUS (CVE-2025-59287): #ufrstatus The CVE-2025-59287 vulnerability allows remote execution of arbitrary program code and was already addressed on the last patch day, but according to the manufacturer, it was not completely closed at that time. A proof-of-concept for exploiting the vulnerability is now publicly known. Potentially affected systems at the University of Freiburg have been identified and mitigation of the vulnerability has been initiated.
30 October 2025, 3:30–5:30 p.m.: Maintenance work on the new Exchange environment: #ufrstatus #wartung On Thursday, 30 October 2025, between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., we will be performing maintenance work on the new Exchange environment.
28 October 2025, 20:12: Issue resolved, authentication service ‘keycloak’ was still disrupted.: #ufrstatus #stoerung The problem causing the failure of some services has been identified and the malfunction has now been rectified. All services are available again as normal.
28 October 2025, 17:40: Partial failure (Auth)/service infrastructure (firewall): #ufrstatus At the moment, access to some services and certain services themselves is disrupted. This seems to be related in a broader sense to central services such as the proxy (in the VMware ESX infrastructure). Many services are accessible, but not all. Among others, the authentication server (for the new IAM) and related services are affected.

23 October 2025, 14:04: Today's bwSync&Share maintenance postponed: #ufrstatus #bwSync&Share The maintenance of bwSync&Share planned for tonight will be postponed by two weeks.
22 October 2025, 11:01 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CommuniGate follow-up work in connection with the mail migration to MailSPEC: #ufrstatus #wartung Starting at approximately 12:00 noon today, improvements will be made to the central mail server CommuniGate as part of the mail migration to MailSPEC.
05.11.2025 from 4 p.m. - Renewal of the ZUV firewall: #ufrstatus #wartung #stoerung On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, starting at 4 p.m., we will be upgrading the existing firewall of the Central University Administration (ZUV). This will interrupt all connections to and from the administrative networks. In particular, campus management (HISinOne) and VPN access to the administration will also be unavailable during this time.
