Important! Vulnerability in IBM Spectrum Protect (formerly: TSM) client < version 8.1.12: IBM has issued a security warning for all client versions < 8.1.12. This vulnerability may also affect SP servers, so no clients that have not been updated to the non-critical version 8.1.12 will be allowed starting next week. Spectrum Protect Server: Security-critical kernel updates completed: During the updates, the Spectrum Protect servers (formerly: TSM servers) were temporarily unavailable. All systems are back in normal operation.
27.10.2021 - Malfunction in course synchronization between HISinOne and ILIAS: On the evening of 27.10.21 between approx. 18:30 and 21:30h there was an error in the synchronization between the booking data from HISinOne and the courses transferred to ILIAS. As a result, numerous people had temporarily lost their course access (students as participants and teachers as course administrators).

Malfunction 17:30 - 19:45: File server / central storage system: impairment of various services: Today, on 18.10.2021, between 17:30 and 19:45, the central storage system experienced a system malfunction. This caused severe delays, which also affected all connected services.

Partial disruption of data center infrastructure and services due to power fluctuation on Sunday morning: On Sunday morning there were problems with the power supply. The UPS had to be switched back to battery operation manually first, the cause is not yet known. Although most of the servers in the virtualization, bw/de.NBI-Cloud, NEMO, ... ran through, there were side effects in the management cluster (Postgress, HiS) due to a defective FC switch. Likewise, some power supplies and thus services in other infrastructures are irreparably damaged.
The doctoral administration system Docata is currently unavailable: The error message "HTTP Status 500 - Internal Server Error" is displayed.

Update Partial fault: bwCloud (creation, deletion of VMs, images): In the course of a necessary update of the basic infrastructure, problems arose in dealing with the necessary certificates, which in turn triggered problems with Python updates, on which many OpenStack components are based. This resulted in a partial malfunction that interfered with the creation and deletion of VMs or images, among other things. A fix was being worked on, but this might require control of the own machines.
Short term update bwSync&Share on Oct. 7, afternoon: Oct. 7, late afternoon, an urgent update had to be applied to the server platform for bwSync&Share. The service was not available between 17:00 and 19:00 (7.10.21).
bwSync&Share: Shutdown on Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00: The service bwSync&Share will be unavailable on Saturday, 09.10.21, due to a rack move of servers of KIT in the period from 12:00 to 19:00.
The new SPSS licenses are available in Asknet from now on: SPSS licenses can now be ordered in the Asknetshop. Versions 26, 27 and 28 are available.

Fri. 17.09.2021 14:00: Routing problems in the chemical area is fixed: Update 14:00: the routing problems have been solved, there was a short outage in the backbone area of Chemistry Institute at 13:15. In the University network, there are currently isolated faults and interruptions with regard to the connections that are routed via Chemistry Institute.
ILIAS available again after update to version 7.2: The update of ILIAS to the latest version 7.2 has been successful. File migration processes are still running in the background and will be completed automatically in the next few days. All files and courses are of course available.
