2025-10-24 16:26: Emergency update for critical vulnerability in Microsoft WSUS (CVE-2025-59287): #ufrstatus The CVE-2025-59287 vulnerability allows remote execution of arbitrary program code and was already addressed on the last patch day, but according to the manufacturer, it was not completely closed at that time. A proof-of-concept for exploiting the vulnerability is now publicly known. Potentially affected systems at the University of Freiburg have been identified and mitigation of the vulnerability has been initiated.
29 October 2025, 6:00 a.m. – Firewall firmware update (VPN/WLAN): #ufrstatus #wartung On Wednesday, 29 October 2025, between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., a new firmware update will be installed on the firewall for VPN and Wi-Fi access. Active VPN sessions may be disconnected during the installation of the new firmware, and existing connections to the ‘eduroam Wi-Fi’ may be briefly interrupted.

The cause is already known and a solution is being worked on. IMAP and SMTP are not affected. Emails can still be read and sent using external mail clients.#stoerung
