30 September 2026, 10:19: urgent maintenance work on the two-wire telephone system today, 30 September, 1 pm–3 pm: #ufrstatus #wartung #stoerung Due to urgent maintenance work, part of our two-wire telephone system will be unavailable today (Wednesday, 30 September) between 1 pm and 3 pm. A small number of external telephones at barriers and (main) building entrances are affected. VoIP handsets at workstations and softphones (OpenScape UC) are not affected.

14 September 2026, 14:43: Urgent maintenance on the telephone system on Wednesday 16 September from 12 noon to 2 pm: #ufrstatus #wartung #stoerung Due to urgent maintenance work, the two-wire subsystem of our telephone system will be unavailable on Wednesday 16 September between 12 noon and 2 pm. This affects a small number of external telephones at barriers and (main) building entrances, as well as the publicly accessible wall-mounted handsets in the university library. VoIP handsets at workstations and softphones (OpenScape UC) are not affected.
14 September 2026, 14:02: Shutdown of AI systems: 14 September, 23:00 – 15 September, 11:00: #ufrstatus #wartung The University of Freiburg’s AI systems were shut down due to the emergency power test on the morning of 15 September 2026 and the associated shutdown of the University IT Services’ main power circuit. The following are affected: Open WebUI, AI Proxy, AI assistants in ILIAS and the AI API Gateway. The system will be taken offline on 14 September 2026 at 23:00. The systems will be available again from 11:00 on 15 September 2026. 27 August 2026 14:07: bwCloud-OS (Gen3) Freiburg maintenance on 15 September 2026: #ufrstatus #wartung All computing services (VMs, Volumes, VM-Netzworks, ...) of the bwCloud-OS (Gen3) Freiburg will be unavailable on 15 September 2026 from 06:30 to 11:00. All VMs in Freiburg will be paused and will not be automatically restarted afterward. Non-computing services (such as APIs) and other regions should not be affected by the power cut. The reason for this is the general power cut and recovery test taking place at the University IT Services of the University of Freiburg from 07:30 to 10:30. Maintenance work will take place from 11:00 to 13:00, which will not affect service quality or availability. 26 August 2026, 14:46: Telephone system update successfully completed: #ufrstatus The telephone system integrated with the UC environment has been successfully updated. This has also resolved some issues with controlling the telephone via UC, which had been occurring since yesterday. Telephony, UC and voicemail are now fully operational again.
26 August 2026, 10:55: Telephone system update: #ufrstatus #wartung #stoerung The VoIP telephone system infrastructure has been undergoing an update since 10.30 am. Thanks to the redundancy mechanisms, there should be no service outages. However, due to the patching work and the associated relocation of services within the cluster, individual calls may be interrupted.
25 August 2026, 12:45: UC update completed: #ufrstatus The update to our Unified Communications environment has been successfully completed. The UC environment has been given a new design in the browser-based application, and as a result, some features have changed. You may need to clear your browser cache.
