Update: bwSyn&Share available again; earlier malfunction: bwSync&Share: Service not available

Update 3.8.21, 9:15 am: The disruption is still present.
Update 3.8.21, 10:05 am: The database from which bwSync&Share is organized is massively disrupted. All available resources are working on the problem, but unfortunately no time prediction can be made when it will be fixed.
Update 4.8.21, 9:15 (correction at 9:30 to workgroup server):
bwSync&Share is still unavailable.
For two purposes we point out alternatives:
Data exchange: The workgroup server of the University of Freiburg can be used to exchange files. It can be reached at https://groups.uni-freiburg.de. This service is open to all members of the University of Freiburg and can be accessed with the university ID. External project partners can also be invited to a working folder via email. Please note the video instructions on the start page of the server under "3. Manage workspaces and invite people".
Collaborative writing: At the moment, we can only point to external services like GoogleDocs, Microsoft365, etc. This goes against our own ambitions, but we don't see any viable alternatives for now.
For the group of those who already work collaboratively on documents whose latest status is on bwSync&Share, we are looking for short-term solutions with our colleagues at the operator KIT. As soon as we have learned something, we will post it on this page.

Dear users of the bwSync&Share service,
first of all we would like to emphasize that we are very sorry about the current situation of our bwSync&Share system and can absolutely understand your displeasure. We apologize for this.
Since Monday morning, 02.08.2021, 09:30, the service bwSync&Share is no longer usable due to a failure of the central database cluster. In close cooperation with the manufacturing companies, the problem was analyzed and several time-consuming recovery attempts were made. In the meantime, we assume that a defective DB table caused the problem. The restore of the database from the backup was started on Wednesday afternoon, but this is time-consuming due to the size of the DB.
