Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 7.30 a.m.: Interruption of TSM service due to software update

The update will take place in multiple steps in order to guarantee the data integrity. First, the available server instances under AIX will be raised to a new level.

hen, a test migration of the library manager to Linux and the connection of the band roboter to the new system will follow.

After a successful test the individual instances will be moved from AIX to Linux. This will happen on another day to keep the interruptions as short as possible.

After the completion of these works, the four known TSM servers will be available again on new hard- and software platform.

With the migration comes a change in name: The product will then be called "IBM Spectrum Protect" and instead of "Tivoli Storage Manager".
