16.02.2021 - 7:45h: All-clear ILIAS and ILIAS exam system. Systems are available again: Since the startup of the ILIAS systems yesterday afternoon from 15:30h, the systems have run through, also the nightly backups have been created normally. Therefore, we expect normal system operation again today. All scheduled online exams can take place.
Update to ILIAS malfunction (teaching and ILIAS-Exam) - database must be restored: There has been an extensive server outage this morning due to the defective air conditioning system, resulting in emergency shutdown of the virtualization infrastructure. Coupled with this has been a defect in the database of the ILIAS cluster. The database has to be restored from backup.
Limited accessibility of some Windows services: Due to a malfunction in the computer room of KG2, various Windows services are currently only available to a limited extent. We apologize for this.

Disruption in TSM operation due to failure of a storage system: Due to the disruption in KG 2, TSM is also affected because a storage system is not accessible. We are working at full speed to eliminate the disruption and ask you to avoid direct contact. As soon as the systems are up and running again, we will let you know.
Malfunction in the computer room in KG2: Due to a fault in KG2, part of the virtualization with all services running on it is not accessible.
ILIAS, e-exam / exam server , BBB, Jitsi not available: Due to a technical failure in the virtualization system, several servers are currently unavailable. This affects several services: ILIAS, Prüfunsgserver, BigBlueButton, Jitsi (meeting.vm), Weiterbildungs-ILIAS, kosmic, ... We are working on the problem.

File server / central storage system: Maintenance announcement for Friday, 12.02.21 starting at 15:30: On the file server / central storage system, the RAM must be replaced on two storage nodes, as these exceed the guideline values for too many errors. 29.01.2021 - 7:30h: Malfunction ILIAS / E-Exam ILIAS / kosmic: There is currently a malfunction of the central learning platform ILIAS and the two complementary platforms for exams and first-year students ("kosmic").
Maintenance announcement: File server / central storage system: system update on 30.01.21 and impairment of various services: A system update of the file server / central storage system will be performed on Saturday, 01/30/21, 4pm and is expected to last 11 hours.

Thu 28.01.2021 from 18:00: further conversion/migration of the telephone system in KG-II: On Thu. 28.01.2021 from 18:00 h our VoIP servers will be migrated to the current software status for the conversion of the telephone system in KG-II. Furthermore, the exchange lines will be converted to a new network infrastructure. This will result in short interruptions or the termination of individual telephone calls.
Tuesday, 26.01.2021: (Fixed) Error with eduroam and VPN authentication: During the night from 25.01. to 26.01. there were problems with the authentication in the WLAN eduroam and with the VPN access. These problems have been solved in the meantime.
Switching the cloud storage backend to NFS/NetApp AFF-A400 (full flash): During the week, the final commissioning and configuration of the new cloud storage backend with a gross capacity of up to 600TByte took place. This component replaces the aging CEPH backend, which was primarily based on a RAID with spinning disks. The associated performance improvement was made possible by the use of de.NBI hardware funds from BMBF funding at the Freiburg site.
