08.04.2021 - 09:00-13:00h: ILIAS Maintenance Break: On Thursday, 08.04. there is a maintenance break for the learning platform ILIAS in order to apply important security updates and patches.
Maintenance announcement: File server / central storage system: System update on 07.04.21 and impairment of various services.: On Wednesday, 07.04.21 a system update of the file server / central storage system will be performed. The maintenance work will start around 1 pm and is expected to last 8 hours. Individual interruptions at different times must be expected. The affected services and the effects are described below.

25.03.2021 - Maintenance break video portal Vimp from 10:00 - 12:00: Due to major maintenance and hardware updates on the video portal (Vimp), the service will be unavailable on Thursday, 25.3.2021, between 10:00 - 12:00. This will also affect Vimp videos embedded in homepages and ILIAS courses.

RZ represented at the 28th DFN Conference "Security in Network Systems": The eScience department of the University IT Services will be present at this year's 28th DFN Online Conference "Security in Network Systems" with a presentation on "Stateless System Remote-Boot as a Business Continuity Concept".
University backgrounds for zoom available: The Prorectorate for Studies and Teaching and the PR Team of Freiburg University have provided a selection of images to use as zoom backgrounds. If you wish to use the backgrounds, you will need to reinstall the client. Uninstalling is not necessary.

Fixed - TSM: Partially not available: Server is reachable again, but the queue has to be processed first, so there may be delayed responses. adsm, adsm2 and arch are currently not reachable. A software bug causes all CPUs to be at 100% capacity and not accepting any further requests. Duration of the malfunction still unknown.
Registration on www.bildung365.de possible again: Update: The problem has been solved by the provider. Background info: There was a problem with the registration on the portal www.bildung365.de.

LDAP service: partial access problem -- fixed: Access to LDAP service partially restricted since yesterday evening until this morning -- problem solved
Zoom licenses will be extended: The current Zoom licenses expire on 25.04.2021. Current developments in the pandemic show that teaching will probably have to continue to take place on a large scale using digital tools in the coming summer semester of 2021. Due to this, Zoom licenses will once again be procured centrally, since on the one hand the university will be able to benefit from a high discount rate due to the collected order and the costs per license can thus be minimized, and on the other hand the uniform standard offers more security and data protection.
